Monday 3rd February will see major problems for Wapping residents as there will be road works on The Highway and as a result the D3 and 100 will be affected.
This will be in place for all of February.
Wapping Ace Traffic Geek Hilary sent us this yesterday evening:
“Get a weekly TFL round up & the following is an excerpt that will no doubt impact the local area. It’ll be interesting to see if the prevention of turning on and off the Highway can reduce otherwise inevitable rat-running or just manage to mess all the more with residents’ vehicular movement in the wake of the divisive bus gate…”
‘A1203 The Highway – Between Monday 3 February and end of March, the A1203 The Highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Virginia Street and Garnet Street. During the works, there will be a number of restrictions in place to prevent turning on and off the Highway. This is to allow a number of utilities companies to carry out essential maintenance works, reducing the risk of further works in the future. Please plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible’.
Then this morning Chris (Bow Landscaping Chris) drew Mole’s attention to this notice which had just been added to the bus stop at Wapping Green.
Yes it does make sense to try and do lots of roadworks at the same time, but a little more warning would have been nice.
Many thanks to Hilary and Chris for the information because without them we would not have known – and so neither would you.
