Acid attack Dane Place, Bow – do you recognise this man?

Tower Hamlets police have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an acid attack in Dane Place, Bow on Tuesday, 2 May this year.

The suspect is described as a white youth who was wearing a black hooded top, blue jeans, black shoes and a grey/green snood. He was on a black hybrid cycle.

The incident happened at approximately 18:20hrs on Tuesday, 2 May when a 21-year-old man had a corrosive substance sprayed in his face outside a residential address in Dane Place, Bow.

The victim suffered burns to his face.

As the victim, a delivery driver of a nearby takeaway, entered details into a Sat-nav in his car, the suspect approached him on a pedal cycle and demanded money. When the victim said that he did not have any, he was squirted in the face with a chemical that smelt of ammonia.

The suspect tried to open the locked driver’s door and eventually got in through the passenger’s seat as the victim tried to wipe the substance off his face.

The suspect then cycled off. To date there have been no arrests.
