A 53 year old man has been arrested in relation to the death of Tanya Downs in a hit-and-run accident last week.
According to a report in the Standard the man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident and has been bailed to appear in court February.
Drivers of Vauxhall Zafira and van sought
Despite the arrest the police are anxious to trace the drivers of a Vauxhall Zafira and a Ford Transit type van seen in the area at the time of the accident in Cannon Street Road as they may have vital information that will allow them to ascertain the exact circumstances of Tanya’s death.
The two drivers are urged to come forward and help the police.
