The prime suspect in the Wapping Duckling Disappearance has been found dead in Wapping canal.
A great big eel. Well, 60cm. Which is quite big.
Our Wapping Wildlife Ranger (Canal Division) Seb took these photos only moments ago.
According to Ranger Seb the corpse of the eel was found only a few feet away from the swan nesting platform – the same location that the ducklings were last spotted.
Does this mean the end of the duckling massacres?
Can Doris Duck hatch another batch of ducklings safe in the knowledge that the eel is dead?
Unlikely. Seems there is more than one eel in there.
