Chris Wilford – Conservative

A graduate of King’s College London, where I served in the Officer Training Corps, I subsequently completed postgraduate research at the London School of Economics on intercultural relations in Tower Hamlets. I have worked in small businesses and understand how challenging growth can be.”

Maureen Childs – Green Party

She is also passionate about lack of affordable housing and suitable housing for seniors to alleviate NHS hospital beds. The potential closure of seven surgeries in Tower Hamlets is a related concern, as well as a lack of care in the community and care homes for the frail.”

Jim Fitzpatrick – Labour

Jim’s first job was with a local firm as a trainee before moving to London in 1973. In 1974 he became a firefighter with the London Fire Brigade and after 20 years service he was awarded the Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.On 1st May 1997 Jim was elected Member of Parliament for Poplar and Canning Town.”

Nicholas McQueen – UKIP

mcqueen-ukipAge 52, born in London’s East End. At age 11 went to board at Caterham School. After leaving school started own business in the retail trade. At 23 years old decided to go back into education and after four years became a commercial pilot while looking after wife and daughter. Worked as commercial pilot in Los Angeles for five years then went on to other places around the world.  On returning to Tower Hamlets went back into business and then politics. Stood as the UKIP Mayoral Candidate in 2014 going up against Lutfur Rahman and John Biggs. Daughter lives in Tower Hamlets and grandchildren go to school in borough.
