Documentation seen by LW seem to indicate that one of the first orders of business for the newly elected Labour council of Tower Hamlets is to award themselves increases in their Special Responsibility Allowances (SRA) meaning a total cost to residents of £377,000 a year.

Last weeks local election count is still the cause of numerous issues, none of which seem to have a clear and understandable explanation. The three opposition councillors, Cllr. Peter Golds, Cllr. Andrew Wood and Cllr. Rabina Khan, have already raised several issues and it seems more are likely to emerge during the coming days.

Official elections results published by Tower Hamlets council have been amended this morning after the results were first published with some candidates for Rabina Khan’s People’s Alliance of Tower Hamlets (PATH) party published under the name ‘Tower Hamlets People’s Alliance’.
