A man has been stabbed to death in broad daylight in the middle of a quiet park in Poplar.
A London Ambulance Service crew called the Metropolitan Police at 13.58hrs on Saturday, 15 June 2019 after responding to reports of an injured man at Alton Street, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, E14.
At the scene a man, aged in his thirties, was found to have suffered stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 14.37hrs.
The murder took place within only a few yards of Lansbury Mosque.

A crime scene has been established and officers from Tower Hamlets CID are investigating. The park through which Alton Street runs has been cordoned off.
Enquiries are underway to notify next of kin. The victim has not been named. A post mortem will be scheduled in due course.
There have been no arrests and officers are working to establish a motive.
