Is Tower Hamlets part of Europe? Yes or no? List of EU election candidates standing in London

Thursday 23rd May 2019 will see one of the most important elections in UK history, the contest to represent the UK in the EU Parliament. And what an interesting election it will be – in complete contrast to normal EU elections which are as dull as ditchwater and ignored by many.

This time it is different because of something called Brexit. Thursday’s EU elections are seen by many as a proxy second Brexit referendum – probably because it is.

Who knows, we might even have another proper Brexit referendum at some point where people can vote on the reality of Brexit, not the nonsense and lies we were fed last time.

Are we Europeans? Yes or no?

So the choice is between voting for a candidate who is pro-european or one who is in favour of us waving the EU goodbye.

Only two candidates will be familiar to LW readers, Wapping resident Kirsty Finlayson of the Conservative Party and Shadwell resident Cllr. Rabina Khan of the Liberal Party.

You can read the Liberal Democrat Party EU election manifesto (PDF) here.

You cannot read the Conservative Party EU election manifesto anywhere because they do not have one. Saves time we suppose.

LW Comment

A few years back Moley enjoyed one of the many benefits of being an EU citizen when he went and lived in wonderful Bilbao in the Basque Country for a year or so. No fuss, just turned up and was embraced by the amazing Basque people. Gora Euskadi! It did rain a lot though.

So you can guess which way Moley is voting.
