Alimal Islam and Mofizur Rahman charged with the murder of Alimuz Zaman

Two men have been charged following the murder of 23-year-old Alimuz Zaman at St Paul’s Way, E3, on Sunday, 26 May.

Alimal Islam, 19 year-old of Meyrick House, Burgess Street, E14, and Mofizur Rahman, also 19 of Fitzroy House, Wallwood Street, E14, were both charged with murder on Thursday, 30 May.

They were also each charged with one count of grievous bodily harm on a second victim, a 25-year-old man.

They appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 30 May where they were both remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on a date to be confirmed.

Both were arrested along with two other men on suspicion of murder on Monday, 27 May.

The two other men, both aged 23, have been bailed to return on a date in late June.
