Lynemouth: Some uncomfortable truths for Metropolitan Police courtesy of Cllr. Peter Golds

More than a few residents across the Tower Hamlets political spectrum are still dazed and confused by the failure of the Met’s Operation Lynemouth to find anything dodgy about Lutfur Rahman’s period in office.

They might want to read the letter reproduced below written by Cllr. Peter Golds (Conservative, Island Gardens) to Commander Stuart Cundy who is in charge of Specialist Crimes Investigations at New Scotland Yard and as such responsible for Operation Lynemouth.

The tone of the letter is summed up in the final paragraphs;

“Sadly for democracy in Tower Hamlets the long record of failure by the Metropolitan Police to take electoral fraud seriously and investigate it properly and enforced the law suggests that there is every chance that 2022 with be little different from 2014; another corrupt and stolen election.

I predicated this before 2014 and was proved to be correct.”

And he was.
