The History of Wapping Trust are having one of their legendary Film Night’s on Thursday September 20 from 7-9pm at Raines House, Raines Street, E1W 3RL.
Presented by local historian Ray Newton the three films are about hop-picking in Kent and beanos, the famous annual Wapping day-out to the coast.
We are lucky enough to live in an area that is soaked in history and Ray knows all about it!
They will also be a short tribute from Ray Newton for his long time colleague and fellow historian Madge Darby who sadly passed away last week at the grand old age of 91 years.
Refreshments will be available at the bar. Do pop along!
