The Wapping Summer Shindig takes over Wapping again this Saturday 7th July from 10.30am – 7pm with the main fun and excitement taking place on Wapping Green. The Thames River police museum will also be open and Ray Newton will be educating you with his history walks.
There is a football match on somewhere at 3pm but don’t go and watch that come to this instead! More fun, less penalty shoot-outs.
What’s on at the Wapping Shindig?
10.30 – 12.00 Ray Newton’s history walk starting from the Turk’s Head Cafe (Moley’s favourite event)
12.00 – 12.30 Clerkenwell School of Ballet performing its fabulous end of year dance
12.30 – 13.00 Hermitage School Show
13.00 – 15.00 Angelo Ruggieri’s dance spectacular Le Corsaire & Top of the Pops – 80s style!
15.00 – 15.30 Pollyanna Children’s Musical Theatre and its extremely talented children
15.30 – 16.30 Spotlight Sound showcasing young emerging talent from across London
16.00 – 17.00 Wapping Dog Show (on the Green) including top prize for Wapping Shindog (Shindog – geddit?!)
16.30 – 17.00 Sing Tower Hamlets Choir from St Paul’s Church, Shadwell
17.00 – 18.00 Paul and Jo who are really great in every way
18.00 – 19.00 Vikki Clayton bringing folk all the way from New Zealand
Thames River Police Museum open
And of course the Wapping Shindig would not be the event it is without the Thames River Police Museum being open from 11am to 5pm! Yay!
Please note that the river police museum (aka MPS Marine Police Unit) is unique! So this is a rare chance to have a look inside.
