In an exclusive interview with The Sun newspaper at the start of his visit to the UK US President Donald Trump has attacked the Royal London hospital, Whitechapel, claiming that it has ‘blood all over its walls’.
Worse than a war zone hospital
In a speech to the National Rifle Association in May President Trump claimed that a London hospital, believed to be the Royal London, was ‘a war zone’.
In The Sun interview with its Political Editor Tom Newton Dunn he returns to this theme, referring to reports in US newspapers.
“What they say is, it is worse than any hospital they have ever seen in a war zone.
“It is right in the middle of London. I guess it used to be the ultimate and now there is, you know, there is blood all over the walls, all over the floors.
“It was a very major story and I have heard it from others, too, so I think it is very sad. Very sad.”
In the same interview Mr Trump also claims that Britain is ‘losing its culture’ because of immigration.
Donald Trump is talking out of his arse. It’s what he does.
“I guess it used to be the ultimate” he says. Guess what President Trump, it still is.
Today as every day the Royal London hospital will save many lives and in the process some blood might well end up on the floors of the Accident and Emergency unit.
And yes, worst case, there might even be a bit of blood on a wall or two.
Reality is Mr President that compared to the slaughter caused by your citizens unfettered access to military grade firearms EVERY day in EVERY US city the amount of crime injuries treated at the Royal London hospital is just a scratch.
Our National Health Service remains the envy of every country in the world – especially the United States of America.
The Royal London hospital is one of many jewels in the NHS crown and is central to the East End of London. Many of us were born there, many will die there and all of us will turn to the London in times of medical crisis.
Instead of playing golf in Scotland a real President worthy of his great country would come to Tower Hamlets and have a look around the Royal London. He might learn something.
But as the world knows Mr Trump is not presidential.
As a draft dodger it is reasonable to argue that he is not even a man.
Having avoided serving his country in Vietnam, Trump most certainly has no idea what a war zone looks like.
Make the most of your golf trip Donald, if Special Counsel Robert Mueller has his way it will be one of the last you make.
