Two men shot outside Mile End Underground station

Two men were shot on Friday night 23rd March outside a takeaway chicken shop near Mile End Underground station in Mile End Road E3.

At around 22:30 hrs British Transport Police officers on duty inside Mile End Underground station heard three gunshots.

Going outside to investigate the officers found two men with gunshot wounds on the pavement nearby, outside a takeaway chicken restaurant.

The men were taken to the Royal London Hospital and received treatment for their injuries which were not deemed to be life threatening.

Shortly after the shooting a white BMW car was found ablaze on Farrance Street, E14 (about 1.5 miles from Mile End) which is believed to be connected.

The London Fire brigade were called and extinguished the fire.

MPS Central East (CE) uniformed officers attended both scenes in conjunction with CID.

Officers from Specialist Crime and Operations – Trident (SC&O8) are progressing the investigation.

No arrests have been made.
