Police appeal after woman injured by falling debris in Burdett Road

Tower Hamlets police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured this morning by debris believed to have fallen from a building site tower crane in Burdett Road near the junction with St Paul’s Way, E3.

Update: 15:42 hrs 29 March 2018

It is with great sadness that we have to report that the injured woman, 29-year old Michaela Boor, has died in hospital this morning Thursday 29th March. Her next of kin have been informed.

A JustGiving fundraising page has been setup by the employers of Michaela’s father to help Michaela’s family.

Police were called to the incident at approximately 09:38 hrs this morning and immediately closed the road,

London Ambulance Service attended and the woman was taken to the Royal London hospital, where she remains in a critical condition. Next of kin have been informed.

A man at the scene was also treated for shock.

Officers from Tower Hamlets CID are investigating and working with the Health and Safety Executive.
