Tower Hamlets Independent Group have just published their Bromley South Newsletter with a warm welcome to residents of the new council housing estate from Lutfur Rahman.
It’s almost as if he is still the Mayor with no mention in the newsletter of the minor detail of being found guilty of corruption and banned from office for five years.
Or did we all dream that?
A Message from The Man Who Thinks He Is Still Mayor
The Man Who Thinks He Is Still Mayor has this message for us:
“I welcome the residents to this fantastic council housing development and wish them well living here in a pleasant and safe environment.
It is a matter of public record that the decision to approve Watts Grove development was taken by my administration at a cabinet meeting on 5th November 2014 – the official decision sheet and report are available on the council website.
We invested £26.33m to build this scheme for residents of Tower Hamlets, Watts Grove shows how council estates are part of the solution to tackle the housing crisis..
I am proud of our administration’s historic housing and regeneration programmes which delivered 5,590 homes between 2010 and 2015 – the highest number of affordable housing in the country – which was recognised by the Government and others.”
You can see the full newsletter below (well, the front bit, no-one interesting on the reverse) which also has some other bloke above Lutfur Rahman’s pic.
You have to hand it to The Man Who Thinks He Is Still Mayor he really knows how to make a laughing stock of the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), doesn’t he?
Anyone would think Chris Skidmore MP, Minister for the Constitution at the DCLG was standing by powerless as The Man Who Thinks He Is Still Mayor (And Might Well Be Again Soon) runs rings around him.
Maybe he and his department just do not know?
If anyone has evidence to the contrary please let us know!
