The London Enterprise Academy in Commercial Rd, Whitechapel, has failed fire safety tests on cladding undertaken as a result of the Grenfell Tower fire.
According to a statement by the Department for Education the tests carried out by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) confirmed that the cladding was not of limited combustibility and the London Enterprise Academy has been informed.
Another school, The Bridge primary special school in Islington, and the Academy in Whitechapel have been inspected by the Fire and Rescue Service who have confirmed that “appropriate measures are in place to mitigate the risks from potential fire, and the buildings have now been declared safe for continued use.”
Buildings with Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding above 18 metres are having samples of that cladding tested.
