Our MP for Poplar and Limehouse Jim Fitzpatrick was following the report on twitter yesterday of the car crash in Vaughan Way that many people witnessed. Jim has requested that constituents email him at firstname.lastname@example.org with their views on the crash and other crashes that have plagued us recently as well as any other ASB issues that concern you (like gas cannisters for instance).
Please ensure that you include your postal address in any email to Jim as he can only deal with casework of his own constituents.
Below is an email from Wapping resident Jas Bhangal who had already emailed Jim before his request. Jas witnessed today’s accident and his views are likely to be shared by many.
Hope you are well. I am sure that some of your other constituents have brought this to your attention but just in case they have not.
Can you please take a look at the Love Wapping link (I have also copied this email to Love Wapping). I just happened to be at home today and this car crashed into a wall on the junction of Vaughan Way and Kennet Street (near Waitrose). It happened at 12:15 and the driver was being pursued by a police car. There are dozens of people who are out at that time as many visit Waitrose for their lunch and there is an infant school about a hundred yards from where this happened. This is now common and it will not be too long before somebody is seriously hurt or god forbid something worse happens.
Can you please bring our concern and a call for action to be taken to the attention of the local police and perhaps whichever community leaders these people listen to.
In his reply to Jas Jim promised to find out more about this accident from the Metropolitan Police.
