This weekend Wapping will be isolated from the rest of the world due to the London Triathlon 2016. Only last weekend Wapping was in lockdown because of the Prudential RideLondon event.
Seems the disruption is mainly on Sunday but do please check the London Marathon site. (There does not seem to be any information on the Transport for London site. )
Maybe someone somewhere thinks that people living south of The Highway are just not worth considering when planning these events?
WTF? Again? AGAIN?
If you had to postpone something because of the closure’s last weekend you might be just a little miffed that you will have to postpone it again.
Response from Wapping residents to last weekend’s closures was varied, some not being bothered at all, quite a few being well fed up.

Here are the details for SKD, Wapping and Shadwell.
Access to St Katherine’s, Wapping & Shadwell:
Sunday 7th August 05:00 – 12:00
Vehicles can only access the above areas during this time by travelling north over Tower Bridge. At Tower Hill traffic will be directed right along East Smithfield’s to
Egress (Or exit as most people would call it)
Vehicles leaving the areas listed above should travel via Vaughan Way and East Smithfield and follow directions south over Tower Bridge. From here routes north of the river are possible via either London Bridge or the Rotherhithe Tunnel.
Sunday 7th August 12:00 – 18:00
From 12 noon the roads to the West of Vaughan Way will reopen. Vehicles will need to follow the signed diversion from Tower Hill around the Minories to Dock Street, crossing straight over the Highway into Vaughan Way.
From Vaughan Way vehicles can use either East Smithfield or Dock Street.
Access to Jardine Road & Free Trade Wharf
Sunday 7th August 05:00 – 18:00
Under Marshal control access is provided along the Highway between Glamis Road and Jardine Road.
To access Jardine Road vehicles must do so from Wapping and Shadwell (see the access and egress details above). If your journey involves travelling north you may wish to consider parking on the north side of the Highway or in Narrow Street area prior to the road closure to avoid the detour over Tower Bridge.
