Wapping E1W to rival Ibiza for partying

A report in the Evening Standard brings the new that today 11th April around 5,000 young people will be coming to Wapping to enjoy a music event at Tobacco Dock followed by an after party at Studio Spaces in Pennington Street.

According to the Standard ‘cutting-edge residencies and visiting Ibiza DJs have turned the industrial Docklands area into London’s favourite spot to party’ which is probably news to most Wapping  residents.

Todays event, Richie Hawtin presents ENTER.London, is organised by London Warehouse Events whose description of Tobacco Dock is  this:

‘…the cavernous space has become somewhat of a techno mecca, featuring sold-out performances from many of the most exciting names on the scene, with the car park being touted as the best techno room in the country’.

Right. On. Man.

Update 10:03 AM: Not exactly Ibiza weather in Wapping today is it?

  1. Got to say – being a resident of a nearby building – we didn’t hear a thing from either Pennington St or it’s adjoining alleys, though we did wonder why so many people were in the area walking home on Saturday night…
