New community work place in the heart of Wapping

By on April 21, 2015 in News

If you are one of the many homeworkers in Wapping the news that a new community work place just for people like you should be of interest.

Situated on the top floor of the Wapping Children’s Centre just behind Wapping Green the ‘Wapping Work Place’ is one of the Community Champions projects and the result of a huge amount of hard work by Christine Trumper (Community Solutions) and Gren Bingham, both of whom are our Community Champions.

The Wapping WorkPlace is a bright and airy shared space for you to work.

According to Wapping Work Places: “We offer all local residents of St. Katharine’s and Wapping Ward a quiet and peaceful place to work and think away from distractions. We usually are open for about 20 hours per week and offer free unlimited high speed Internet access.  Laptops can be reserved and wireless printing is available.”

For the community, by the community

How handy is that? And even better that this project is entirely the creation of the Wapping community.

And of course if you happen to have your children minded by Wapping Children’s Centre on the ground floor during the day now you can use a shared work space in the same building.

Get in touch

Although it can be very nice sitting and working in somewhere like Cinnamon Coffee Shop you don’t have much room if you need to lay your work out.

Details of opening hours can be seen on the Wapping Work Places site or if you can call 0560 364 6891 (local rates).

Specifics of pricing were unavailable at the time we went to press but they are sure to be within the reach of everyones budget, probably a quid or two per hour. Get in touch to find out.

Or less than the price of a flat white.

Tea and coffee are available (there is a little kitchen just off the space) but you will probably have to bring your own biscuits. Hardly a deal breaker.

So if you need to have a meeting in Wapping there is now somewhere you can go. There are lots of lovely desks and tables available (see above) that can be configured depending on what you need.
