Wapping cygnets growing up fast (must be all the bread)

By on May 31, 2014 in Wildlife

Remember the Wapping canal cygnets were teeny weeny little balls of fluff only a few weeks ago? Well they are still fluffy but growing bigger by the day.

Below are some photos taken earlier this morning.

A new bird platform has appeared on the canal (thanks very much to whoever is responsible) and while these shots show the cygnets and their parents completely ignoring it @WappingLondon tweeted a pic this evening which showed all the cygnets and their parents checking out the new accommodation.

Also it was great to see a Mirror Carp enjoying the sunshine in the canal – only a few feet away from where a dead carp was spotted a while back.

It’s amazing what some nice fresh water can do.

As ever please keep an eye on the cygnets and make sure your dog is on a lead if the swans are near the bank.
