Great Crested Grebes & Mr Burns are back

By on March 30, 2014 in Photographs

Wapping Wildlife Rangers are pleased to report that there is a pair of Great Crested Grebes on Shadwell Basin and Mr Burns has also been spotted.

The Grebes were seen having a wander along the Thames by the Marine Police Unit the other day, probably looking for a better nesting spot than the Basin can offer.

It was fun to watch people walking past Mr Burns completely oblivious to him – Mr Burns stands stock still while fishing so unless you stop talking and take the time to look you won’t see him.

Best places for Mr Burns are shallow water where he can see the fish more easily.

The Mirrored Carp have also been seen in the Canal, they seem to get bigger every year.
