Wapping Woods attacks – public meeting St George’s Town Hall Tuesday 8th January 7pm

By on January 3, 2013 in Meetings, News, Wapping Woods

I have had replies to my emails about the Wapping Woods attacks from Jim Fitzpatrick MP and Cllr Denise Jones as I am sure many of you have.

Message from Councillor Denise Jones

A meeting has been organised for us all to discuss the issue of the environment in Wapping Woods. Full details of the email from Councillor Denise Jones is below.

“I have confirmed with the police that the public meeting about safety in Wapping Woods will be at St George’s Town Hall, next Tuesday 8th January, at 7pm.

The man who was arrested has now been charged for both stabbing incidents and will appear at Thames Magistrates Court today (Thursday).

Inspector Steve Cook, the Borough Commander and Andy Bamber, LBTH community safety officer will be attending with me to brief residents, answer questions and to listen to any suggestions from residents on safety in the park.

I hope you will be able to come, but if you can’t can email me in advance any questions or suggestions you would like raised as well as any other safety issues in Wapping that you would like to be discussed..”

Many thanks

Cllr Denise Jones

Don’t just tweet about it – be there

Make sure you turn up and have your say! It’s all well and good tweeting about this sort of thing and posting on Facebook but the only thing that really counts is people turning up to this meeting.

Apparently it is called ‘democracy in action’. Maybe it will catch on?

If you don’t know where St George’s Town Hall is it is in Cable Street next to the mural.

  1. Why not have a meeting about Wapping Woods in Wapping people don’t feel safe enough to to walk to Shadwell or bus it after dark.
